The Western School of Dance, is not just a Dance School, it's a place
where children can have lots of fun, make friends and learn to dance.
They learn to be confident, outgoing individuals and how to work as a
team. Our School is always doing community projects, if it's not
raising funds to help charities like the Neo-Natal Unit at Nobles Hospital
in the Isle of Man, then it's performing for Residential homes around
the Island but to name a few things we do. We try and help where
ever we can and proud that we can.
Each year we put on a stage show so the children can show off their dance
skills that they have learnt through the years. Our School also
attends Competitions in UK and have been very successful over the last
two years bringing home to the Island more than 70 medals to date.
We are very proud that some of our students have got through to the semi-finals
of a UK Tap Championship.
Scoill Daunse Yernagh Ellan Vannin our Irish Dance School is very much
in demand for concert performances all over the Island, again helping
to raise awareness and monies for the likes of Breast-Cancer and Childrens
Hospice. We also performed at Bishops Court on Tynwald Day for the Islands
Dignitaries.
Our Irish Dance Students took part in their first Feisanna in Dublin,
Ireland, and bought home 24 medals and two trophies, we also have Irish
Dance workshops planned for anyone wanting to try and we are to host the
very first Irish Dance Feisanna called the "Manx Open" in February
2009.
This has been our third year that we have danced for the elderly at Abbottswood
Nursing, this year was extra special as Sir Norman Wisdom was there and
what a great man he is.....
